Sylaba Translations offers highly personalised, professional multilingual translations services, plain language editing and training programs.
We take a detailed approach to translation services. We aim to deliver communications that are fit for purpose and not just a straight translation of words. Conveying the essence and meaning of communications and marketing materials is at the centre of what we do. Our promise to you is that all translations will be undertaken by highly qualified experienced staff. All of our translators have a minimum of Level 3 accreditation National Accreditation Authority for Translators & Interpreters (NAATI). Sylaba’s expert team of translators have worked in the industry for a minimum of 5 years and are all formally accredited translators.
About Sonia Sanchez Moreno
Sonia Sanchez Moreno moved to Australia from Spain, on a rainy day in March 2014. Once she settled in Melbourne, she proceeded to work in a fast-paced environment in the translations and multicultural communications field. Passionate about effective communication, accessibility, and always seeking to achieve client delight, the move to multicultural Australia was the perfect fit. With encouragement from friends and family, Sonia then became the founder of Sylaba Translations. She and her team of translators are focused on quality translations and ensuring that communication materials are fit for their intended purpose.
Sonia’s approach to translation reflects her 7 years of education in translation and interpreting studies. She has a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Translations from Spain. Additionally, she has experience working with Australian clients since 2014. Sonia’s inquisitive nature and her love of culture and languages have led her to become a plain language judge in the ClearMark Awards celebrated in the U.S.A and contributed to writing the Best Practice for Community Translations Guideline for AUSIT (Australian Institute of Interpreters & Translators). Furthermore, she is a NAATI certified translator (Spanish to English, English to Spanish translations), a committee member for ASIC Victoria Branch, and a former treasurer to the Australasian Association of Language Companies. She is also an experienced Easy English editor.
Sonia is a veteran of scoping, planning and executing multilingual translation projects to help organisations build relationships with their audience. She is a passionate trainer, known for helping, educating and supporting clients as they develop inclusive communications techniques.
In her free time, Sonia loves to read and practice yoga. She enjoys cooking and if you try to find her on a Saturday night, she will most likely be enjoying a good meal with her friends and family.
