About Sonia Sanchez Moreno
Sonia Sanchez Moreno moved to Australia from Spain, on a rainy day in March, 4 years ago. Once she settled in Melbourne, she proceeded to work in a fast-paced environment in the translations and multicultural communications field. Passionate about effective communication, accessibility, and always seeking to achieve client delight, the move to multicultural Australia was the perfect fit. With encouragement from friends and family, Sonia then became the founder of Sylaba Translations. She and her team of translators are focused on quality translations and ensuring that communication materials are fit for their intended purpose.
Sonia’s approach to translation reflects her 7 years of education in translation and interpreting studies and her 4 years of experience working with Australian clients. Sonia’s inquisitive nature and her love of culture and languages, has led her to become a plain language judge in the ClearMark Awards celebrated in the U.S.A. She is also an experienced Easy English editor.
Sonia is a veteran of scoping, planning and executing multilingual translation projects to help organisations build relationships with their audience. She is a passionate trainer, known for helping, educating and supporting clients as they develop inclusive communications techniques.
In her free time, Sonia loves to read and practice yoga. She enjoys cooking and if you try to find her on a Saturday night, she will most likely be enjoying a good meal with her friends and family.
